By way of introduction

Hi everyone, my name is Alana Borgogno and I’m the writer behind this blog. You have hopefully read my post “A story that needs sharing”… that will go a way to explaining why I am taking on this new venture. If you haven’t, please check it out.

First things first - I’d LOVE you to sign up for my emails – it’s how you will know when I’ve posted a new entry on this blog. I’d love you to stay in step with me until completion (which I am prayerfully optimistic will be the end of this year). If you scroll down you will see a section where you can put in your email address. You won’t get spam from me and you can opt out at any time.

I live in the suburbs of Perth, Western Australia and have 3 amazing adult children, a new daughter in law and a son in law in the making. It’s definitely a new and exciting phase of life that’s for sure. My husband Steve is blessed to be a Church Partnership Manager at Compassion Australia and gets the opportunity to visit various churches. He shares with congregations the vision and work of Compassion around the world as they seek to honour and carry out their mantra of releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. You can read more about Compassion here: https://www.compassion.com.au/

Back to my introduction. I’ve worn many hats over the years from legal secretary to education assistant and other roles including ministry support and currently working part time in aged care and disability support. It feels surreal to add writer to the end of that list, but I am not entertaining the idea of imposter syndrome for a second. I truly believe I am where God wants me to be doing what God wants me to do.

Sewing, knitting and crocheting are hobbies I enjoy in my free time.

I really REALLY value prayer. Please pray for me and this project. I have already experienced spiritual attack and setbacks as I’ve committed myself to this endeavour. I believe with all my heart that this is God’s work. He wants Nyoman and Eka’s story known. He wants people to get an understanding of how Jesus’ light is shining in the dark places. I marvel how he begins with shining his light into our personal dark places – our hearts, revealing our desperate need for him and the salvation and direction he brings.

Thanks for reading this far, if you have any questions, please drop them in the comments and if you haven’t already please look through the rest of my website and sign up for updates.

Be blessed!
