May Field Trip

On a bit of a whim we booked tickets to Bali a few days ago... for next week! Steve had a small window of opportunity to be able to take some time off work - while still continuing some work remotely. Being casual, I am thankful that my work is flexible enough to be able to put a few shifts on hold. I work for some amazing, understanding people!

I've had a bit of a wake up call with some unfavourable (but not drastic) test results so we thought "let's do it!" It's nothing to be alarmed about, but current lifestyle practices are in need of some tweaking. Blah, blah, blah.

We’ll be away for just over a week, and I’m hoping to capture more of the story in a deeper, more personal way. God willing, I’ll be interviewing Grandma, other family members, and people from the church congregation.

I'm also heading in to this trip hoping that being surrounded by the sights, sounds and scents of the village will help my writing style—making the book feel more alive and immersive.

This week I will be focusing on preparing some conversation starters for my "subjects". I don't want to pepper them with questions, rather it be an opportunity to share their stories and memories.

Please pray for good health and safety. For clear communication (I will be using interpreters). Pray also against spiritual attack. That God's work in Bali will continue to grow and flourish and more souls will be won for His glory. For my family back at home.
